Equipment:
NPL has the following acoustic test facilities: - two laboratory tanks with precision positioning systems and full data acquisition capability. - open-water floating test facility located on a reservoir. - acoustic pressure vessel for simulating ocean conditions (up 700m depth and 2°C to 35°C). - low frequency calibration facilities (5 Hz to 315 Hz) including for autonomous recorders. Software or numerical codes:
NPL has a wide range of acoustic modelling capability including acoustic finite element modelling (using PAFEC) and expertise in acoustic propagation modelling using a wide variety of codes (OASES, SNAP, Energy Flux, BELLHOP, RAM, KRAKEN, SCOOTER...). NPL has a range of bespoke acoustic analysis software codes
