Bringing together the UK's acoustic research community

The vision of the UK Acoustics Network Plus is: (i) to promote acoustics related research in the UK both nationally and internationally; (ii) to provide a coherent single point of access to the acoustics research community for industry and governmental agencies; and (iii) to support pilot/explorative projects that can be developed into competitive full-scale proposals to initiate research areas which are new to UK or strategically important.

UKAN+ covers all major areas of acoustics. To provide the opportunity for members to connect and advance their focused area of interest, UKAN+ has 15 SIGs.

Sensors

At the heart of acoustics engineering is the sensor - the device by which sound is converted into data.

Mathematical Analysis in Acoustics

Mathematical Analysis in Acoustics brings together researchers developing tools from the fields of applied, numerical and asymptotic analysis in the context of acoustics

Underwater Acoustics

Underwater Acoustics is concerned with the generation, transmission, and reception of sound in the underwater environment.

Physical Acoustics

Physical acoustics is the area which focuses on the interaction of sound waves with matter and the processes which accompany it
