Bringing together the UK's acoustic research community

The vision of the UK Acoustics Network Plus is: (i) to promote acoustics related research in the UK both nationally and internationally; (ii) to provide a coherent single point of access to the acoustics research community for industry and governmental agencies; and (iii) to support pilot/explorative projects that can be developed into competitive full-scale proposals to initiate research areas which are new to UK or strategically important.

UKAN+ covers all major areas of acoustics. To provide the opportunity for members to connect and advance their focused area of interest, UKAN+ has 15 SIGs.

Physical Acoustics

Physical acoustics is the area which focuses on the interaction of sound waves with matter and the processes which accompany it

Computational Acoustics

The Special Interest Group for Computational Acoustics (SIG-CA) brings together researchers, professionals and end users to address acoustical challenges.

Vibro-acoustics

Vibro-acoustics is concerned with the sound generated by vibrating sources because of their contact with structures.

Bioacoustics (SIGBio)

Bioacoustics is concerned with all aspects of sound production, dispersion and reception in the natural world.
