Bringing together the UK's acoustic research community

The vision of the UK Acoustics Network Plus is: (i) to promote acoustics related research in the UK both nationally and internationally; (ii) to provide a coherent single point of access to the acoustics research community for industry and governmental agencies; and (iii) to support pilot/explorative projects that can be developed into competitive full-scale proposals to initiate research areas which are new to UK or strategically important.

UKAN+ covers all major areas of acoustics. To provide the opportunity for members to connect and advance their focused area of interest, UKAN+ has 15 SIGs.

Sensors

At the heart of acoustics engineering is the sensor - the device by which sound is converted into data.

Bioacoustics (SIGBio)

Bioacoustics is concerned with all aspects of sound production, dispersion and reception in the natural world.

Aeroacoustics

Aeroacoustics is concerned with the generation, transmission, and propagation of sound generated aerodynamically, i.e, by unsteady flows.

Computational Acoustics

The Special Interest Group for Computational Acoustics (SIG-CA) brings together researchers, professionals and end users to address acoustical challenges.
