Dr Claire Thring from Novosound will speak on Ultrasonic thin film: prototype to product.

Bio: With nearly a decade of experience in ultrasound research and development, Dr Claire Thring began her career with a first class MPhy BSc honours degree and a PhD from the University of Warwick. She then took a post-doctoral position at the University of Glasgow, also in ultrasound, before joining Novosound. Claire is now a Chartered Physicist and member of the IoP, sitting on the Physical Acoustic Group committee. She leads the Application Specialist team at Novosound, who are a group of Physicists conducting high level research and development of ultrasound sensors from piezoelectric thin film material.

Abstract: In this talk, Claire will share her experience of her transition from academic to industry and her first industrial product development journey. She will also discuss the wider journey of the award winning company Novosound and their ground breaking thin film Ultrasound technology.
