Second in-person SIG-SAIA meet-up

The second in-person SIG-SAIA meet-up took place on the 10th of May, 2024, at Queen Mary University of London (Mile End).

Schedule:
  • 10:00-10:30 – Tea & coffee
  • 10:30-10:40 – Participants’ Introduction
  • 10:40-12:20 – Presentations from the attendees (15 minutes each with 5 minutes for questions)
    • 10:40-11:00 – Chin-Yun Yu – “Time-of-arrival estimation and phase unwrapping of head-related transfer functions with integer linear programming” (QMUL)
    • 11:00-11:20 – Annika Neidhardt – “Perceptual Tolerances in Room Acoustic Rendering for VR and AR” (University of Surrey)
    • 11:20-11:40 – Saurjya Sarkar – “Time-domain music source separation for choirs and ensembles” (QMUL)
    • 11:40-12:00 – Angela McArthur – “Ecological validity in spatial sound research – why?” (UCL)
    • 12:00-12:20 – Lorenzo Picinali – “Immersive Audio Challenges” (Imperial)
  • 12:20-13:00 – Lunch (a selection of vegan and vegetarian options will be provided, but please let us know if you have any other dietary requirements)
  • 12:50-13:30 – Travel to the ROH (using public transport)
     
Royal Opera House Visit 
  • 13:30-14:30 – Introduction and talk about ROH, broadcast and the building
  • 14:30-15:00 – Q&A session
  • 15:00-16:00 – Tour of ROH backstage (possibly in two groups)
  • 16:00 – END (wrap-up, further Q&A etc.)
  • 16:00-… Drinks at the local pub
