Webinar brief

Some notions of vibro-acoustics will be reminded, including the difference between deterministic and statistical approaches. Then, the importance of using appropriate numerical methods will be presented. A few examples of use of commercial vibro-acoustic software in different industries will be provided: space, marine, train… The added value of some new methods to solve such problems in an industrial context will be underlined.”

Mauro CARESTA

Mauro has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rome followed by a PhD at the University of New South Wales in Australia. His PhD and postdoc focused on sound radiation and attenuation methods for submarines. After a postdoc on NDT for nuclear fuel assemblies, he worked as a research associate at the University of Cambridge in shock propagation through drilling tools. He then joined Schlumberger where he worked for 9 years on projects related to shock, vibration, dynamics, reliability and condition monitoring. He recently joined Dassault Systèmes as a vibro-acoustics consultant supporting clients in North Europe in the use of wave6.
