The University of Salford is currently seeking a postdoctoral researcher in acoustics, with solid expertise in psychoacoustics and/or signal processing
This is an exciting post-doctoral opportunity to work on a highly innovative project for trajectory optimisation of drone operations to minimise noise impacts on exposed communities and wildlife, at the University of Salford (Manchester, UK).
Working at the interface between two Centres of world-leading research excellence at the University of Salford (the Environmental Research & Innovation Centre and the Acoustics Research Centre), your research will contribute directly to the Reducing Environmental Footprint Through Transformative Multi-Scale Aviation Planning (REFMAP) project. Funded by Horizon Europe, REFMAP will quantify the environmental footprints of drones at a “multi-scale” level where single trajectories (micro) and the flow traffic of multiple vehicles (macro) are optimised to minimise the environmental impact.
The contract is fixed term for 27 months, although possibilities for extending will be explored during the tenure of the role depending on research income.
The deadline for applications is 11/06/2023, 23:55.
