We are looking for a Marine Seismology Researcher (specifically in the field of active source seismo-acoustics) that can contribute their expertise to ongoing NOC research and to develop new research areas related to the following:
- Expertise in multi-channel signal processing and interpretation (including experience with seismic processing software (e.g. Seismic Unix, Promax, Omega, Claritas etc…) and seismic interpretation software (e.g. Petrel, Kingdom, OpendTect etc…).
- Quantitative analysis of / inversion to predict petrophysical properties.
- Characterisation of (sub) seafloor structure and active processes to complement existing rock physics and geohazard expertise.
The candidate should have a PhD in a relevant field (e.g. Marine Geophysics, Seismology, Physics, Acoustics) and a track record and future vision for research that is aligned with key research areas of the Marine Geosystems team. The candidate should have familiarity with the Linux environment and it is desirable to have experience in shell scripting and coding (e.g. Matlab, Python).
