On behalf of the UK Acoustics Network, UKAN, the acoustics PhD students at the University of Sheffield would like to welcome acoustics PhD students to a Network PhD exchange day.
The purpose of the event is to bring the PhD students in UKAN closer together, to share
experiences/challenges, familiarise with equipment and methods other students use, and promote collaboration between universities in building a stronger contacts network.
The first part of the event will take place in the Sheffield Tribo-Acoustics Lab where you will see demos by the PhD students and the kind of sensors and experiments they are building. The second part will start with a talk from two ex-PhD’s who have set up their own business; followed by flash presentations from each participant (prize for the best one). Note: non-EPSRC funded PhD students can claim travel expenses from UKAN.
