Sonardyne is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Transducer Test Engineer to join our Electromechanical Design Group. This is a hands-on, varied role supporting both existing underwater acoustic products and calibration equipment used across our UK and international operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Transducer Engineer, you will play a key role in testing, analysing, and improving underwater acoustic transducer systems. The role involves both laboratory-based work and close collaboration with production and engineering teams.

If you join you will:

  • Perform in-air and in-water acoustic and electrical testing

  • Analyse test data and produce clear technical reports, including root cause analysis and recommendations

  • Use specialised laboratory equipment to measure sound pressure levels, frequency response, noise, and vibration

  • Develop and execute test procedures that meet acoustic, electrical, and environmental standards

  • Support and improve existing underwater acoustic products and calibration systems

  • Communicate results clearly through written reports and technical presentations

  • Liaise with production teams to improve acoustic processes and implement enhancements

  • Assist with the development and evaluation of new subsea transducer designs

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications
