No two days are the same at ACCON! Our recent projects include: using an acoustic camera in a winery to determine the source of noise causing complaints from nearby residents; providing an acoustics feasibility study for a demonstration kitchen within a food production factory; assessing noise and vibration from road and rail sources to proposed dwellings; assessing vibration from an underground limestone mine to proposed dwellings above; reviewing wind farm noise assessments; and investigating potential methods for reducing noise at a MUGA. We also carry out assessments of noise nuisance, building acoustics, sound insulation assessment and testing, and provide expert advice at Planning Inquiries, Court Hearings etc.

We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal Acoustic Consultant. Working as part of our established acoustics team, the successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to contribute to both the technical and commercial growth of our acoustics business within the UK.

Candidates should have:
• A relevant first degree or post-graduate qualification (e.g. Diploma in Noise & Acoustics);
• Corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics;
• Good technical knowledge and report writing skills;
• A minimum of five (Senior Consultant) or eight (Principal Consultant) years’ relevant
experience; and
• A full driving license.

The successful candidate will also be able to work independently with minimal supervision and
will take a role in leading the Acoustics Team. We maintain a range of noise and vibration measurement instrumentation, embracing state-ofthe-art technology. Our work is supported by a comprehensive noise modelling (using CadnaA)and prediction capability using our in-house calculation tools.

Salary is dependent on experience. Benefits include a staff pension scheme, annual leave entitlement of 23 days plus Bank Holidays and health insurance. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed. ACCON encourages continuing professional development.
