UCL IEDE is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching) in Building Physics and Soundscape to play a key role in our current and future research and teaching programmes, especially to support our new dual degree programme in this area: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/bartlett/environment-energy-resources/study/sustainable-built-environment-energy-and-resources-bsc-and-meng.

The successful candidate will be expected to serve a 5-year term as a Year 1 Director with responsibility to develop research and teaching ethics protocols for this programme.

Experience of research-based teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level including preparation of course guides, lecture and seminars, setting of assessments and development of interdisciplinary teaching material. Ambition to grow both as a teacher and as an effective developer and manager of educational programmes.  A demonstrable capacity to deliver robust teaching, research and a desire to support higher degree student research. Research topics:

  • Sustainable and healthy cities
  • Data driven analysis and qualitative analysis
  • Evaluation of acoustic quality and soundscape in buildings and cities
  • Sound propagation and sound field in buildings and cities
  • Data driven analysis and qualitative analysis
  • Integration and interaction of acoustics and sustainability
