Imagine what you could do with several hours of uninterrupted time to focus on a project that’s important to you. Start (or finish) that paper you’ve been meaning to get to. Brainstorm your next grant proposal. Re-write or edit a document that just needs a few finishing touches before submission. Dr Elaine Massung (Academic Smartcuts) and Professor Dan Allwood (Peak Writing) will be hosting virtual writing retreats for early career UKAN+ members on Wednesday, 13th November 2024 (9:30 am – 1:30 pm) and Tuesday, 11th February 2025 (9:30 am – 1:30 pm) to help UKAN+ members concentrate on their work. Beyond giving you time away from your to-do list, the retreat provides support, accountability, and an opportunity to network with others researching acoustics.
A limited number of one-to-one sessions are also available with either Elaine or Dan if you want to discuss your writing in more depth during these retreats. They will need the writing sample you wish to discuss prior to the retreat; the deadline for sending a sample can be found on the registration form.
Please register your interest in attending one or both sessions here: https://forms.gle/r7MimSw7G1PM1NgJA. One-to-one sessions will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, and only one one-to-one session is available per person.
If you have any questions about the retreat, please contact Elaine (hello@academic-smartcuts.com). If you have more general questions about UKAN+ early career training and support, send an email to earlycareersgroup@acoustics.ac.uk.
