EDI Day: Integrating Equity, Diversity and Inclusion into Acoustics, Physics and Building Services

EDI Day: Integrating Equity, Diversity and Inclusion into Acoustics, Physics and Building Services will be held on 20th March 2025 at the IOP office in London. The Institute of Acoustics (IOA), UKAN+, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC), the Institute of Physics (IOP), the EPSRC EDI Hub+ are coming together to discuss how to improve Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) within our organisations with the support of partners including Constructing Rainbows and EqualEngineers. We will look at the existing barriers and explore what a roadmap for improving the sector might look like. This will be a hybrid event.

This event has been organised by Angela Lamacraft (IOA), Simone Graetzer (UKAN+) and Matthew Robinson (IOA), with the support of Fiona Pizzey (IOA) and the IOA EDI working group as a whole. Drop-in sessions

We are running drop in sessions from 10.00 to 11.00am on the day. We would like to hear about the challenges in our professional community, by attendance at one of the three drop-in sessions and/or completion of an anonymous survey here. In particular, we would like to hear from individuals providing information on EDI challenges faced in the workplace or at a professional body, and employers/hiring personnel discussing the EDI challenges faced in recruiting and retaining staff. The more people we hear from the better we can understand the issues faced by our members.
