Alan has over 13 years’ experience in ecological research and consultancy and has experience in survey, mitigation, and licensing for a variety of projects in construction, waste management, water, energy and transport infrastructure. Alan’s main area of interest is in survey and mitigation for bats (Chiroptera), undertaking physical and acoustic surveys to facilitate development. Due to the nocturnal nature of bats, the use of ultrasound detectors are essential for the identification of species and assessment of behaviour and activity levels
Alan will be giving a brief introduction to some of the commercial applications for ultrasound detection, analysis and interpretation for bats (Chiroptera), discussing the equipment, software and client deliverables.
