Due to the high demand, the deadline for abstract submission to the 5th Symposium on Acoustic Metamaterials (SAM 2026) has been extended to 15 February 2026.
The scientific program will feature 30-35 regular talks by young researchers, including (but not limited to) the following topics:
- Acoustic/elastic metamaterials and phononic crystals,
- Acoustic/elastic metasurfaces,
- Non-reciprocity, parity-time symmetry, and temporal modulation for the manipulation of acoustic/elastic waves,
- Non-linear, non-Hermitian, and topological acoustic/elastic systems,
-
Metamaterial-based functional devices for acoustic sensing, cloaking, imaging, absorption, insulation, and energy harvesting.
Furthermore, 4 plenary lectures will be given by renowned experts in the field:
- Felix Langfeldt (ISVR, University of Southampton – UK)
- Varvara Kouznetsova (Eindhoven University of Technology – NL)
- Marie Touboul (CNRS, POEMS, ENSTA – FR)
- Nicolas Noiray (ETH Zürich – CH)
We are also preparing a rich social program to foster our community, which includes a cultural visit and a popularization event on Wednesday, 15 April, as well as the opportunity to join us for social dinners on the days of the Symposium and an extra social day on Saturday, 18 April.
The registration fee is 275€, and registration is mandatory before submitting an abstract:
-
For presenters, abstract submission must be completed together with registration by
1 February 202615 February 2026. - For attendees without a presentation, registration should be completed by 15 March 2026.
