Professional/research interests:
I am a postdoctoral researcher using ecoacoustic monitoring to study the impact of forest disturbance on biodiversity in the Brazilian Amazon. I have also used passive acoustic monitoring for a range of wildlife and ornithology related projects in the UK.

What would you like UKAN to do for you?
Opportunities to share knowledge and collaborate across domains, in particular there seems to be a lot of scope for collaboration with sound engineering and deep-learning skillsets.

How would you like to contribute to UKAN?
I would like to participate actively in networking and knowledge sharing events.

Equipment:
We have a range of passive acoustic recording devices.

Software or numerical codes:
I am proficient in handling sound files in the R coding language, and have built a classifier based on the Tadarida toolbox on that platform. I have processed a wide range of acoustic indices using the seewave nd soundecology packages. I am starting to move towards the use of Python to handle audio.
