My research interests lie in the interface between physical acoustics and biological physics, with applications to pharmaceutical, health and biomedical problems. I am particularly interested in developing a theoretical understanding of the nucleation of a phase transition in fluids and tissues mediated by acoustic waves, such as formation of crystals or bubbles in an acoustic field, and modelling the wave propagation in tissues for the therapeutic applications of ultrasound. I have also worked in areas as diverse as statistical signal processing, fault diagnosis and condition monitoring, numerical analysis and high performance computing.

We have developed OptimUS which is a fast open source python based solver for solving multiple domain Helmholtz transmission problem using coupled boundary element methods. OptimUS supports a diverse range of transducers, e.g. piston, single element focused, array, focused array.
