The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield is seeking to appoint a Research Programme Grant Manager, with experience in managing collaborative industry-academic research consortia, for a recently funded EPSRC Programme Grant in their Dynamics Research Group. This is a 5-year position.

The aim of the Programme Grant is to create the new science, knowledge and technical capabilities to develop a new trenchless technology platform that will: (i) radically improve our capabilities by delivering a near real time condition map of buried pipe and associated infrastructure in large networks; (ii) transform the capabilities of utilities to manage their buried pipe networks.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator and in liaison with other academic colleagues, the post holder will take the lead role in managing all aspects of research programme grant including day-to-day grant management; development, ownership and delivery of work plans; setting up and management of research and impact processes, monitoring of budgets, audit preparation, reporting to funders, communication and relationship management.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and significant experience of
research project management in the Higher Education sector with clear evidence of delivering nonacademic impact.
