A position is available in the beautiful coastal city of Genova (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genoa) in the frame of the EU project POLKA (POLlution Know-how and Abatement), a multi-site Early Stage Training Program headed by Keele University (UK) and involving academic and industrial partners in Europe and India. The ESR (Early Stage Researcher) to be employed is expected to carry out theoretical and numerical research on thermo-acoustic instabilities within model combustion chambers of gas turbines, using tools such as hydrodynamic stability theory and adjoint-based analysis. As part of the project the fellow is also expected to spend part of her/his time at a partner institution within the Polka consortium. More information on the Polka project is available on https://www.polka-eu.org/project-consortium/keele-uni.htm.
