Webinar – An introduction to porous media in building acoustics applications by Fabien Chevillotte, Matelys

Date
5 June 2020

Time
2:00 pm

Location
Webinar - via Go To Meeting

This webinar aims at presenting the use of porous materials in building acoustics applications. The role of porous materials will be introduced with four applications in mind: the acoustical absorption; the air-borne insulation; the solid-borne insulation; and the ceiling applications. Through this presentation, basics of acoustic absorption and transmission phenomena will be discussed. These applications will be illustrated with practical examples and live simulations. This presentation aims to help the attendees to understand the associated physical phenomena and optimal porous layer structure to achieve the required acoustical performance.

Fabien Chevillotte is the Managing Director & Researcher at Matelys – Research Lab, Lyon Area, France.
