Radiated noise from the complex structures are a function of geometry and stiffness. These can be modified by the topology optimization approaches to reduce the emitted noise from the structures. However, finding the best design in structural acoustic applications is a real challenge. It depends on the experience of the design engineer to select the best optimization and approximation methods for each specific industrial design. In this talk, a survey on the application of the various optimization and fast approximation methods in structural acoustics will be presented. Several examples for structural acoustic design optimizations including of the shell-like structures, sandwich panels and exhaust systems will be presented. Also, Vibro-acoustic design of structures with negative Poisson ratios ( Auxetic Metamaterials) will be discussed.

The event will be a hosted on Zoom webinar. Register in advance: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Js4vvWahRM2Ri4_evGCIFg.   After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
